2I hate asking you this
My account is frozen and the hospital will not start treatment. Could you send €1,200 today? I will repay you when I fly home next week.
3Send helpThree warning signs
- Strong feelings and future plans come before you meet in person.
- Video calls or meetings keep failing due to last-minute problems.
- A sudden health, travel, or account crisis leads to a request for money.
This made-up message uses a known scam pattern. It shows no real person, firm, or email.
Why it works
The request comes after trust has grown. Shame and fear of losing the bond can make outside advice feel wrong.
What to do now
- Do not send more money, gift cards, crypto, or ID.
- Tell someone you trust and keep the chat. An outside view can help.
- Call your bank and report the profile. Victim support can help you end contact.
