Klar Free Mail extension
What it does
Catches spam as mail arrives, on your Mac, with the model built into the app. Nothing leaves the Mac.
Where it comes from
The Mac App Store. Free.
Klar and Klar Plus: what each one does
Klar is the free extension that filters mail as it arrives. Klar Plus is the paid app that learns from your corrections. Together they cover new mail and old.
Klar Plus Paid companion app, coming soon
What it does
Shows every decision, retrains the model on your corrections, re-checks older mail overnight, clears spam already in your mailbox and sorts promotions into their own folder.
Where it comes from
klar.im, as a notarized download, once it ships. The launch price is on the pricing page.
Why it is two apps
Mail runs the extension only when a message arrives, and the extension has no network access. That is by design: the part that reads your inbox cannot send anything out.
Retraining and the re-check of older mail need a program that runs on its own, outside Mail, with the whole mailbox in reach. That is Klar Plus, a separate app.
What happens without the other
With both installed
- New spam is caught as it arrives, by Klar.
- Your corrections retrain the model on your Mac, within about a minute.
- Older mail is re-checked, and spam already in the mailbox is cleared.
Klar works on its own today. Klar Plus adds to it once it ships.
